Prof Dr Dr Darius Dian was born 1963 in Essen. His father was trauma surgeon and laid the foundations for Dian’s passion for gynaecological surgery, which accompanies the patient from the manifestation of the disease until the successful end of therapy. He lives with his wife, also a gynaecologist, and his four children in Starnberg. He is a passionate triathlete.

Research focus: Carcinoma of the breast, especially the analysis of survival and recurrence data, evaluation of new tumour markers for prognosis and therapy as well as evaluation and introduction of new operative procedures.
